Dr. Ioannis Fragakis was born in Veria. He graduated from medical school with a grade of 8.5 from UMFT in 1997. He served as an officer in the Greek army. He fulfilled his rural service in Nea Santa Komotini, where he was seconded to the cardiology and emergency departments of Komotini Hospital for two years.

At Veria General Hospital, he completed the major part of his general medicine training as his first specialty.
