Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) is the most common form of skin cancer, appearing in sun-exposed areas of the face and body. It originates from the basal layer of the epidermis, from which it takes its name. Its spread is slow, and it rarely metastasizes, only in rare cases. However, its removal is necessary because it expands both outwardly and in depth, destroying surrounding tissues. Surgical treatment is required.

Long-term and occasional sun exposure is the most common cause of basal cell carcinomas.

Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) is the second most common type of skin cancer. It appears in the cells of the spinous layer of the epidermis and gets its name from these cells. It is most commonly observed in sun-exposed areas such as the ear’s pinna, face, neck, and extremities. However, it can also occur in areas like the mucous membrane of the mouth (typically forming on the mucosa of the lower lip) and genital organs.

Malignant Melanoma is the most dangerous and aggressive form of skin cancer. Early diagnosis is crucial in its treatment approach. If not detected quickly, melanoma can metastasize, making treatment more difficult and less predictable. Malignant melanoma is the rarest but responsible for most deaths from the skin cancers mentioned above.

All formations that are removed are sent for histological examination to ensure the patient is certain about the diagnosis and the complete removal of the tumor.
